And our new fellow is …

Congratulations to our new Artistic Fellow Jens Isensee, who convinced our expert jury with his mixed reality project »Tauchgang« (wt)! In the interactive installation, he combines digital content with analogue objects made of disposable materials and sends users on a journey into the time after the Anthropocene. We are looking forward to the collaboration!

XR Maker Space

From now on regularly! Every year, we offer two or three one-day XR Maker Spaces for creatives with previous knowledge. The first Maker Space at the end of 2023 was on the development of multiplayer projects in virtual reality, the second one will be on augmented reality in public space!

After each XR Maker Space, there will be an open access video tutorial published on our website, on Youtube and by our cooperation partner nachtkritik.plus.

The next two XR Maker Spaces will take place in autumn 2024!

ZOOM-IN #2: Art and Augmented Reality

For the second issue of the series Zoom-In: Digitization in Art and Culture on 20 August, the Kulturförderpunkt Berlin cooperates with the AURORA School for ARtists for a glimpse into other realities: We immerse ourselves in the history of AR, have the technical basics explained and learn about AR applications in art and culture.

First and foremost, we look at the potential of AR, but also take a look at the discrepancy between the general idea and the actual possibilities of digitally augmented reality. We also learn more about the subtle difference to XR (Extended Reality) and the soon to be launched EU project for freelance creatives XR_Unites. We have invited exciting project makers who will take you on a journey and give you insights into the state-of-the-art of AR in art and culture.

Date
20.08.2020, 4–6 p.m.
