XR Tutorials (digital)

Please note: these are the original tutorials with a translated audio track. While the screen recordings of the software Unity are in English, some slides might be in German language.

Here you can find tutorials on augmented reality (AR) – recorded especially for artists and cultural professionals with no prior knowledge! The majority of these instructions also offer a good introduction to the production of mixed and virtual reality applications, as we also work with Unity software in our project.

We have extracted questions from many conversations, which we will answer here briefly, but with spice. You will get an introduction to understanding, developing and publishing mobile AR applications for smartphones and tablets. We provide additional material via download links under the respective videos. Have fun watching and learning!!

Leonid shows you an illustrative example of how to develop an AR application step by step – working with Vuforia is suitable for augmenting 2D artworks such as drawings, paintings and street art.

AR Foundation offers completely new possibilities to make a Unity project AR-capable – for example for markerless tracking, cross-platform projects and AR glasses. Get to know the current state of the art with Christoph and install the tool kit on your computer!

The AR application is built – now what? Many small steps are necessary to get it onto the smartphone. Christoph goes through them with you to make it work: first for Android and then for iOs devices.

15 | WHAT DO I HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHEN PUBLISHING THE APP?

The most important points that should be clarified before the release, such as licenses & costs, monetization concepts, the choice of platform and the maintenance of the application after the release.
